Advent and Christmas 2015


IMG_1940Sunday, December 6 – Joy Gift service at 10:00 am

Our Children, Youth, and Adult Choirs will share the Christmas story through music and drama.
We will collect the annual Christmas Joy offering which helps provide financial assistance to current and former church workers and their families in times of acute need and also enables deserving students to attend Presbyterian-related racial ethnic colleges and schools.
After the worship service, come and join in a covered dish dinner in Chadbourn Hall.

Wednesday, December 9 at 7:00 pm – Veni Emmanuel: An Ancient Worship Service for AdventVeni Emmanuel
Our “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” service will feature readings and musical settings this ancient, beloved hymn. Come encounter the mystery and wonder of Christ’s Advent. The service will conclude with a celebration of the Lord’s Supper.

Saturday, December 12th at 3:30pm – Caroling at Wilmington Health and Rehab
All are welcome to join with our Children’s and Youth Choirs to sing carols and share the good news and joy of the Christmas season. The group will go out to dinner after singing. Contact Rachel or Sharon for more information

Monday, December 14 at 6:00 pm—Community Peace Vigil
You are invited to join with Christians and other people of faith from around Wilmington to pray for peace, for an end to all violence – including gun violence – in our communities, for victims of violence and their families, for first responders, and for our world. Held at Bailey Theatre Park at 12 North Front Street

Sunday, December 20 at 10:00 am—Choir Christmas Cantata
Join us as the Chancel Choir and Jubilee Bells present “A Garland of Carols” by Anna Laura Page and Jean Anne Shafferman.

IMG_1798 - WebWednesday, December 24 at 4:00 pm—“Glowstick-Light” Christmas Eve Worship
Our Early “Glow Stick” Service is held with families and all ages in mind. We will sing favorite hymns, “light” glow-sticks, tell the Christmas story, and collect non-perishable food items to share with the Good Shepherd Center.

Wednesday, December 24 at 7:00 pm—Candlelight Christmas Eve Worship
Traditional Candlelight Service: We will share scripture readings and music celebrating the birth of Christ. We will conclude by singing “Silent Night” by candlelight.
