Short Video Bible Study on Matthew:

I am posting 2 to 3 short videos each week as a Bible Study on Matthew’s Gospel. See them on the church’s Facebook, Instagram or YouTube pages. This week’s videos are here:

Matthew 2:1-3: https://youtube.com/shorts/p9Sv58Ad3IM?feature=share
Today’s Reading is Matthew 2:1-3. The Magi are stranger vistors in Matthew’s Gospel. They seem to be astrologers! They are the gentiliest-gentiles in the Gospel, but God uses them. God calls them. God has a purpose for them. God has a calling for all of us and a purpose for all of us. Let’s answer our callings – and see and seek God’s work in the world.

Matthew 2:1-18: https://youtube.com/shorts/T-ECyZw7-PA?feature=share
Today’s Reading: Matthew 2:1-18. Herod doesn’t see as well as he ought to! Where the Magi see what God is up to, Herod only sees a rival to his own power. Instead of seeing innocent children, Herod sees something to nip in the bud. None of us are Herod! But when we focus only on ourselves – or our own status – we might need our spiritual vision checked. Let’s all focus on Jesus – and Jesus calling us to follow him!

Matthew 2:7-12: https://youtube.com/shorts/tImGBtLKnjY?feature=share
Matthew 2:7-12 – The Magi, when ordered by Herod to lead him to Jesus… they don’t. They get out of Dodge. They don’t participate in Herod’s schemes. Let’s be like the Magi, not Herod.

If you don’t mind clicking the “like” button if you watch, it really helps share the video with others.
