Dear Friends,
Did you know that the first 2,000 days (roughly the first five years) of a child’s life are critical for their healthy development in countless ways?
Did you know that investments in the well-being of children can pay huge dividends for a stronger, more successful community in which we all live?
Did you know that we – as individuals, members of a church family, and members of the Wilmington community – can help the children in our midst have a stronger, healthier First 2,000 days of life?
Did you know that Jesus cared quite a lot for children?
(Really, quite a lot. Re-read Matthew 19:13-14 -among others.)
Come to the 5th Annual First 2000 Days Community Summit on Presidents Day – February 19th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at Lifepoint Church.
Come to the Summit to gather with others in our community who care about children, care about our community, and want to work for children in our community.
This year’s Summit will be held at Lifepoint Church at 3534 S. College Rd. on February 19th from 1-5pm. Following a screening of the documentary, “Resilience,” participants will be led in a discussion and breakout groups to discuss a strategic plan for our community to confront issues of toxic stress for young children in New Hanover County. Input from a wide variety of community sectors is sought, such as local government entities, non-profits, for-profit businesses, faith communities, early childhood service providers and decision-makers and others.
The event is free, but attendees are asked to register in advance. To register, go to first2000dayswilm@gmail.com or call 815-3731.
